What My Message Is All About

When you book me for a speaking engagement, you’re bringing in someone who has experienced a life-altering event at just 22 years old. My entire future was turned upside down in an instant, and I was forced to develop tools just to survive each day—both physically and mentally.

The core message I share is about building resilience — the ability to bounce back when life throws you a curveball. It’s about staying strong during tough times, not letting setbacks keep you down, and finding a way to keep going. The first key to building resilience is learning to overcome challenges. Resilience is about adapting to life’s obstacles and coming out stronger, with patience, perspective, and a strong support system playing key roles in the process.

For younger audiences, I connect by sharing my experience of going from an able-bodied individual to someone who has to navigate life with a drastically changed body. I understand the frustration and impatience that often comes with wanting things to happen quickly, especially in today’s fast-paced world. I teach how resilience can help them stay strong and persistent, even when things aren’t going as planned, and how it can positively impact their lives and the people around them.

 

For older audiences, I highlight how resilience plays a critical role in managing the inevitable difficulties we all face. I offer practical mental tools for dealing with challenges that feel out of our control, and I emphasize how shifting our mindset can transform our perspective on life’s most overwhelming problems.
