About

ABOUT ME

image.png

My name is Tommy McGuire and I am a motivational speaker.

In 2016, two weeks after graduating college at the age of 22, I had an injury that left me as a C3 quadriplegic. The doctors told my parents I’d never be able to breathe on my own or move anything below my neck. As a result of this injury I had to become mentally stronger.

My new life requires a tremendous amount of resilience. The two biggest mental skills I advocate for building resilience are patience and perspective. I was forced to utilize these skills or I wouldn’t be where I am now. For years, I referred to what happened to me that night as an accident, but over the years I’ve learned it’s served as an opportunity. The opportunity is to be able to share my experiences, both good and bad, to help others overcome adversity in their lives.

My mission is to help others discover their inner strength and find inspiration, regardless of the challenges they may be facing. I believe with the right mindset and a strong support system, anyone has the potential to reach their goals and live a meaningful, fulfilling life.

MY SPEAKING EVENTS

I’ve been fortunate to share my story at various speaking engagements. I've had the opportunity to speak at a range of venues, from Fortune 500 companies, such as Salesforce, to local schools and assemblies. By sharing my story, I aim to inspire others to overcome personal obstacles and build mental resilience among both the youth and adults.
